British Airways stopping flights to war torn Middle East country until later this year

British Airways halting flights to Middle East conflict zones until later this year

British Airways has suspended all operations to multiple Middle East destinations amid escalating tensions linked to the Iran conflict. The airline’s statement revealed that flights to and from Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, and Tel Aviv have been canceled this month due to ongoing instability in the region.

According to the airline, the adjusted schedule reflects “persistent uncertainty” and “airspace disruptions” caused by the current situation. This decision comes as countries in the Middle East close a vital air corridor in response to the US and Israel’s attack on Iran. Major carriers are either halting thousands of flights or rerouting them to avoid affected zones.

Airports across the Middle East, which serve as critical transit hubs for international travelers, are now facing operational challenges. British Airways emphasized that it is monitoring the situation closely and is actively reaching out to passengers impacted by the changes, offering alternative travel arrangements.

“We’re maintaining constant communication with customers and are providing a variety of options to accommodate their needs,” the statement added. “Those still in the United Arab Emirates are receiving tailored support to ensure their journey to the UK remains viable.”

As part of its efforts, the airline is also pausing daily rescue missions from Muscat after Thursday, citing decreased demand. In a separate warning, British Airways urged customers to be cautious of scams, as fraudulent accounts impersonating the company have flooded social media platforms.

Users responding to the airline’s update on X reported encountering fake customer service profiles. These accounts often requested personal information and payment details, even going so far as to organize non-existent rescue flights. Passengers were advised to provide their name, email, mobile number, and home address through official channels only.
