Weather agencies warned of strong winds and dust in the Coachella Valley, leading to the cancellation of DJ Anyma’s set after Carpenter’s performance.
“Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform tonight,”
the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival stated on Instagram. The decision prioritized attendee safety, as wind gusts were expected to reach 25 miles per hour. An air quality advisory was also issued, citing windblown dust as a potential health risk for sensitive individuals.
Thematic Performances and Line-Up Details
Carpenter transformed the Empire Polo Club stage into a Hollywood Hills setting, reimagining it as “Sabrinawood” for her debut as a headliner. She began her set with a short film scene where Elliott played a bumbling officer who let her go with a warning. Ferrell later joined, impersonating an electrician to inject humor into the event. Other acts on Friday included KATSEYE and Disclosure, while Saturday will feature Justin Bieber and Sunday will showcase Karol G. UK artists like Wet Leg and Little Simz are also part of the schedule.
Since 2002, Coachella has been held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, drawing over 100,000 attendees daily across two weekends. Local air quality management officials noted that pollutant levels were measured as good to moderate after Thursday noon, though the advisory remained in effect through Sunday morning.
