Oscars Red Carpet: Stars and Fashion in Pictures
The red carpet at Sunday’s Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles became a stage for Hollywood’s most iconic figures, each showcasing their signature style. From bold color choices to timeless elegance, the evening was a visual celebration of fashion and film.
Star Performances and Bold Looks
Chase Infiniti, the rising star of One Battle After Another, made waves with a custom lavender Louis Vuitton gown, solidifying her status as a fashion standout. Meanwhile, Rose Byrne, nominated for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, opted for a black Dior creation adorned with a delicate floral embroidery.
Jessie Buckley, a frontrunner for best actress, dazzled in a red-and-pink ensemble—a departure from her usual minimalist aesthetic. Wunmi Mosaku, competing for best supporting actress in Sinners, chose a glittering gown with a cut-out shoulder to accentuate her baby bump.
Renate Reinsve, known for her Louis Vuitton-centric wardrobe, arrived in a simple yet striking red gown by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Sentimental Value. Demi Moore, returning after last year’s nomination for The Substance, went all out in a Gucci piece featuring feathers.
Nominated Stars and Iconic Outfits
Emma Stone, in the running for best actress, dazzled in an oyster-hued Louis Vuitton gown. Kate Hudson, nominated for Song Sung Blue, made history by joining her mother Goldie Hawn on the carpet 56 years after Hawn’s Oscar win for Cactus Flower.
Teyana Taylor, celebrated for her performance in One Battle After Another, matched her cinematic flair with a black-and-white Chanel creation. Leonardo DiCaprio, a One Battle After Another star, chose a classic black tuxedo, while Timothée Chalamet, nominated for Marty Supreme, wore an all-white outfit.
Pedro Pascal’s oversized white floral brooch was so dramatic it left no room for his bow tie or tuxedo. Kieran Culkin, who dominated the supporting actor category last year for A Real Pain, returned as a presenter for the ceremony.
Behind the Scenes and Other Highlights
Li Jun Li, from Sinners, drew attention with a sleek Gaurav Gupta design. Amy Madigan, nominated for best supporting actress, made a comeback 40 years after her last Oscar nod for Twice in a Lifetime. Odessa A’zion, in Marty Supreme, chose an embellished black gown for her walk.
Four Sentimental Value stars, including Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, were Oscar-nominated. Her co-star Elle Fanning wore a white Givenchy princess gown. The K-pop group Demon Hunters, known for their hit Golden, also graced the carpet ahead of their performance.
Nicole Kidman, a former Oscar winner, presented an award in a chic Chanel ensemble. Regina Hall, from One Battle After Another, arrived in a black-and-gold gown, while Gwyneth Paltrow, nominated for Marty Supreme, chose a white gown with a side slit.
Damson Idris, the F1 star, looked refined in an ink-blue overcoat with furry lapels and a jeweled brooch. Wagner Moura, celebrated for Narcos, was nominated for his role in The Secret Agent. Spike Lee, accompanied by his wife Tonya Lewis Lee, wore a purple fedora and silver cassette bag to reflect his distinctive flair.
“Hudson Williams may not have been nominated at the Oscars, but he has been one of the most notable breakthrough actors of the past year, thanks to his role in TV series Heated Rivalry,” noted the event’s fashion coverage.
Bella Thorne, in black feathered cuffs and a sheer slip, added a touch of whimsy. Maggie O’Farrell, co-writing the screenplay for the Hamnet adaptation, wore a bubblegum pink gown with black lace gloves and a mesh fascinator. Misty Copeland, in a monochrome outfit with a playful tutu, will perform during the ceremony.
Felicity Jones, starring in Train Dreams, arrived in a pale yellow Prada piece. The red carpet also welcomed Heidi Klum, the fashion icon, and other stars who brought their unique flair to the event.
