Hundreds evacuated as fire rips through German nightclub
On Saturday night, a fire at K Club in Kehl, Germany, prompted the safe removal of roughly 750 people from the establishment. The blaze began around 3:45 AM, swiftly engulfing the entire building before emergency teams ensured a full evacuation.
German media shared images depicting a towering fire on the club’s rooftop, set against the backdrop of an industrial zone in the city. Despite the chaos, all individuals managed to exit the premises unharmed. Three people were attended to by first responders but did not require hospitalization.
German press agency DPA reported that K Club is renowned for its hip-hop and Afro music events, regularly welcoming attendees from Alsace, especially Strasbourg, the closest French city across the Rhine.
Authorities have initiated an inquiry to uncover the origin of the fire, which remains undetermined. This event follows a similar tragedy at a bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana, where 41 people lost their lives and 115 were injured. In contrast, the evacuation at K Club appeared to proceed without significant issues.
