Two Arrested Following Fatal Collision in Flitwick
Incident on Greenfield Road Leaves One Boy Dead, Two Others Injured
A man and a woman, both in their early 20s, were apprehended following a collision that resulted in the death of a boy and left two teenagers with severe injuries. The crash occurred on Greenfield Road in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, at 11:50 PM BST on Friday. Authorities reported that a vehicle struck three teenagers, two on bicycles and one on a scooter, causing the tragedy.
Emergency services arrived at the scene after the collision, but one of the boys was already pronounced dead. The other two were transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the area, though a blue BMW with substantial damage was later discovered on a parallel street, according to police.
“Our primary concern is supporting the families of the boy who lost his life and the two injured teenagers,” stated Det Sgt Shona Searle of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “We are examining multiple leads to uncover the events leading to the crash and urgently seek witnesses or footage from dashcams, doorbells, or CCTV cameras.”
