Two more murder arrests after boy, 14, shot dead

Additional Murder Arrests Following Tragic Shooting of 14-Year-Old Boy

Following the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Woolwich, south-east London, two additional arrests were made for murder. Eghosa Ogbebor, 14, lost his life at the scene of the incident on Lord Warwick Street, Woolwich, around 15:40 BST on Thursday.

The Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man on Saturday. A 46-year-old man was also taken into custody on suspicion of aiding the perpetrator. Previously, three individuals were arrested on Friday, including two boys aged 14 and 16, as well as an 18-year-old man, but they were subsequently released on bail.

“Our team of dedicated detectives is ongoing with inquiries into Eghosa’s death,” said Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, who leads the investigation. “Residents may have noticed heightened police activity in Woolwich last night as officers detained three more suspects. We appreciate the concern Eghosa’s death has caused, particularly within the local community, who will continue to see increased police presence around the area.”
