On Monday morning, a tragic mass shooting occurred at a local park in Winston-Salem, resulting in the deaths of at least two individuals, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

The shooting took place in Leinbach Park on Robinhood Road, situated close to Jefferson Middle School, as reported by the agency on X.

“When they met at the park, the situation escalated, and multiple individuals began shooting at each other,” police said.

Initial findings indicate the incident may have originated from a planned confrontation between two young people, shared by Winston-Salem police on social media. The department emphasized that the event remains an isolated case under investigation.

Suspects and Victims Identified

Authorities have confirmed that several individuals involved in the shooting have been identified and located. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation noted that the incident is currently under active examination. At this time, some of those linked to the event are juveniles.
