The forty-three-year-old athlete discussed his feelings with People magazine, expressing how thrilled he was to receive an invitation and how honored he felt to witness the occasion firsthand.
Beyond his initial excitement, Fitzpatrick revealed he was still recovering from more than six hours of continuous dancing throughout the evening. However, the most memorable moment for him came when legendary comedian Adam Sandler emerged to officiate the proceedings. “When Adam Sandler walked out, it had everybody floored; that was really cool,” Fitzpatrick remarked, noting that the entire ceremony was truly beautiful.
