Liverpool Poised to Outmaneuver Arsenal for PSG Star Bradley Barcola
Liverpool backed to hijack move for Arsenal – Emile Heskey has called upon his former club Liverpool to secure the signature of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola ahead of their North London rivals. The former England striker believes landing the French international would represent a crucial acquisition for new manager Andoni Iraola.
Barcola proved instrumental in Luis Enrique’s campaign last term, netting thirteen goals across all competitions while helping the French giants claim both Ligue 1 and Champions League honours. Despite this impressive contribution, reports suggest the winger is contemplating his next steps following reduced playing opportunities at the Parc des Princes.
Currently representing France at the World Cup, Barcola was listed among the substitutes for PSG’s Champions League final victory against Arsenal. Sources indicate he is reluctant to commit his long-term future to the club, with his current deal running until 2028.
Liverpool and Arsenal Both Tracking the Winger
Mikel Arteta holds Barcola in high regard, with Arsenal actively exploring a potential transfer for the Frenchman. The Gunners are simultaneously monitoring Aston Villa and England forward Morgan Rogers as they seek to bolster their attacking options.
Liverpool have also registered their interest in the PSG star, aiming to address their wide areas following Mohamed Salah’s exit from Anfield. Heskey encouraged his former employers to accelerate their pursuit of the winger.
Signing Bradley Barcola would be an amazing coup for Liverpool because he provides the pace and directness we’ve been missing on the left wing. We’ve been spoiled with Sadio Mané and Luis Díaz, and now we need Barcola to get the fans off their seats again.
The former striker also highlighted how Liverpool’s missed opportunity to sign Yan Diomande from PSG might create an opening for Barcola’s departure. He emphasized that securing the winger would serve as a significant statement for Iraola.
Liverpool looked to have missed out on Yan Diomande to PSG, but that could open the door to Barcola leaving, it would be a statement signing for Andoni Iraola that’s for sure.
PSG’s Valuation Could Complicate Deal
Extracting Barcola from PSG may present considerable challenges, as the European champions appear content to wait despite the player’s concerns regarding his minutes. The Parisians have already completed the sale of Goncalo Ramos to AC Milan for seventy-four million euros, equivalent to approximately sixty-three point seven million pounds.
Additionally, PSG are expected to consider offers for Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani during the current transfer window. The club reportedly values Barcola at over one hundred sixteen million pounds, a figure that exceeds what Manchester City paid to acquire Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
Heskey Recommends Rashford for Arsenal
In separate comments, Heskey suggested Arsenal should investigate a move for England winger Marcus Rashford. The twenty-eight-year-old is believed to be seeking a fresh challenge away from Manchester United.
I think Marcus Rashford needs to move on, I don’t think he’s staying at Manchester United. It’ll be interesting to see where he goes. I doubt it will be another loan unless it’s a move with a view to a permanent deal.
I can’t see him staying at United. Aston Villa might take him on loan again with a view to a permanent move, I think he’d be a great asset there. After the season and the reception he had, a change seems likely.
Heskey previously anticipated Rashford might join Barcelona but now believes his opportunity there has elapsed. The pundit expressed confidence that the winger could flourish at the Emirates Stadium, particularly given his reservations about Gabriel Martinelli’s suitability for the left wing position.
I thought he might be heading to Barcelona, but it seems his time there has passed. I could see him thriving at Arsenal. I’m not a big fan of Gabriel Martinelli, I think Marcus is a lot better. It will be interesting to see if they look at him as their next left winger.
